The festival is almost here.

As a small Japanese village prepares for its upcoming celebration, rumours begin to spread of a strange woman appearing nearby.

A restless spirit has begun haunting the village, and with the festival drawing closer, something must be done.

Explore the village, speak with its residents and uncover the story behind the apparition before putting the spirit to rest.

MADE FROM SCRATCH FOR THE HAWKTOBER HORROR JAM 2026

Every piece of artwork and music in UBUME was created by our team specifically during the game jam.

That includes the:

• Pixel art and tilesets
• Character sprites
• Environments and buildings
• Cover art
• Animations
• Original soundtrack / music

No premade art, asset packs, stock game assets or premade music were used.

We wanted UBUME to have its own visual and musical identity, so everything you see and hear was made specifically for this game within the jam period.
